Pinpoint runs fine cream lines across a deep indigo ground, each one ending in a small rounded head — like pins set into cloth. They mitre at the centre into a four-way cross, so the pattern pulls the eye to the middle of the room instead of scattering it. The most graphic piece in the collection, and the one that does the most for a plain kitchen.

Woven from premium chenille cotton with a low flat pile, it's soft enough to stand on through a long prep and tough enough for what comes with it — coffee, olive oil, tomato and all.
